DEMOCRATS NEED TO MEET THE MOMENT

I'm a Democrat, and I'm saying that Chuck Schumer was wrong. He gave Trump what we wanted by voting in favor of the MAGA plan to avert a shutdown.

The Trump administration is ripping away Medicaid and Social Security services, abolishing critical government agencies, and firing hundreds of thousands of federal workers.  

But without question, the most anger I’ve heard from people in my district is not directed at Trump or Elon – it’s directed at Democrats. I don’t blame them.

People want to know that Democrats are fighting for them, that we’re just as scared of the Trump admin chaos as they are. But more than that, Democrats need to offer a clear rebuttal and path forward, not just empty words that don’t meet the moment.

So let me be clear – I am pissed off. I’m deeply worried for the future of our democracy. And I’m fighting with every fiber of my being to stand up to Trump’s authoritarianism. 

But I have to level with you. Democrats don’t control any branch of government. So our paths to stopping the Trump steamroller are extremely limited. So now more than ever, I’m relying on your grassroots strength.

I need you to raise your voice. 

I need you to talk with your friends, family, coworkers. 

I need you to get outside of your bubbles. 

Volunteer, protest, and yes, chip in a few bucks at a time to help Democrats gain back power. I know you’re angry. I know most messages asking for money are quickly moved to the trash folder. But our movement is clear-eyed and depends on your action in this moment.
