Hello friends,
My last four years on the Cambridge City Council have been busy and productive. From taking the lead on increasing the percentage of affordable housing developers are required to provide the city, to increasing the amount of money from $4.58 per square foot to $15 per square foot commercial developers must pay the city that we then use for affordable housing, to addressing issues of homelessness and poverty, animal welfare and resisting the hatred coming out of the White House, there is a lot to be proud of.
Although we have accomplished much, I am not complacent. Not when 18% of Cambridge's children live in poverty. Not when we have hundreds of homeless men and women on our streets. Not when death by overdose has doubled in the last year. Not when our immigrant friends and neighbors are under attack. Not when so many are struggling to afford to live in our great city. There is more to do if we are going to be the socially and economically just community we need to be.
With 26 strong candidates running for Cambridge City Council, this is by far my most challenging election. If you want me to return to the Cambridge City Council so I can continue to provide bold, progressive leadership, then I need your help.
Please consider helping in any of the following ways (or more than one!):
1. Click on the link below and make a donation of any amount to help me get my message out across the city.
2. Email my Volunteer Coordinator, Mitch Donat at donatm@bc.edu and pick up a canvassing shift.
3. Host a house party by emailing my Campaign Manager, Katie Lee at katielee@bu.edu
4. Pledge your #1 vote by emailing my Campaign Manager, Katie Lee at katielee@bu.edu
With the weather so beautiful it's hard to think about November 7th, but it will be here soon, and your help and support will make all the difference. Thank you so much for your consideration.
