Melanie Stansbury is a native New Mexican and New Mexico state legislator who in the 2018 election cycle flipped NM House District 28, becoming the first woman ever to hold the seat. A champion on environmental conservation, poverty alleviation, and building sustainable communities, before serving in the state legislature, Melanie served as a staffer in the U.S. Senate and the Office of Management and Budget, focusing on water, energy, and climate.
