The road to breaking the Republican supermajority in Raleigh runs through a handful of highly competitive State Senate districts, and Democrats have recruited an outstanding group of candidates ready to flip these seats in November. Join us as we welcome three of North Carolina's frontline Senate challengers:
-District 7: Jessica Bichler, New Hanover County
A longtime small business owner who understands the challenges facing entrepreneurs and working families on the coast and across North Carolina. District 7 is an R+1 seat that has been competitive for several cycles and presents one of Democrats' best pickup opportunities.
-District 11: James Gailliard, Franklin, Nash, and Vance Counties
A longtime pastor and former two-term member of the North Carolina House, James has been a champion for working families, educational equity, criminal justice reform, and economic opportunity. Democrats came within striking distance of flipping this R+0 district last year.
-District 34: April Cook, Cabarrus County
Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Lake Norman Community Health Clinic, April has dedicated her career to ensuring access to quality healthcare for uninsured families. District 34 is an R+2 seat that continues to trend toward Democrats.
