About Rachel Hunt

Rachel Hunt’s career is defined by her commitment to family and public service. An attorney who specialized in domestic law, she later launched Hunt for College, LLC, guiding students and parents through the college application process. After pausing her career to focus on parenting, Rachel volunteered extensively in education and civic organizations, including the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools PTA, the League of Women Voters, and boards such as Lillian’s List and the NC Foundation for Public School Children.

Elected to the North Carolina House in 2018 and re-elected in 2020, Rachel then won a North Carolina Senate seat in 2022, representing District 42. Now serving as the 36th Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina, she continues her lifelong dedication to public service, education, and advocacy. She is the daughter of Governor Jim and Carolyn Hunt, whose legacy of service inspires her own commitment to the state.
