Terry Meza and Sandra Lee both have long histories serving the community, helping other progressive candidates run for office, and for serving in the Democratic Party. Terry has returned to her hometown of Irving, Texas to fight to rid Texas House District 108 of one of the worst Tea Party extremist in Austin: Rodney Anderson. Her long career fighting for Civil Rights through the ACLU, leading Non Profit Community Revitalization efforts in Fort Worth and Midland, helping property owners with damage claims with FEMA, and in the classroom as a public school teacher (before she got her law degree) enables her to being a much richer understanding of the realities faced by people in this state and in her House District than Mr. Anderson seems to exercise.
Sandra Lee has stepped up to give voters a much more sane choice than GOP incumbent Bil Zedler. Sandra's dedication to the community, especially to children, goes far beyond her "resume". As Truancy officer for Mansfield ISD, Sandra puts in more than just a minimal effort to propel troubled teens onto the right path.
Both of these incredible women have already tilled the soil in their districts with 2014 races. They have build up name-recognition and attracted supporter based on solid intelligent positions on issues which are crucial to these two districts. Terry is running in one of the house districts that is noted by many to be truly a Swing District that could go from Red to Blue in 2016. Sandra is running in the quadrant of Tarrant County which went blue in 2014. Her hardwork, phonebaking, blockwalking and persistent effort moved us closer to reclaiming some local offices in Tarrant County.
We are confident that any contributions to these two candidates will be stretched a long way and help turn out voters not only for their races, but for other Democrats on the ballot.
