The recent incident with a school board member making an inappropriate comment and touching a student is really concerning. It’s crucial that everyone in the Washington County school system, especially students, feels safe from any misconduct by staff or officials. When trust is broken, we must take action to prevent future incidents and protect all students.
We should have high expectations for board members; they play a vital role in shaping the education system and should be trustworthy role models. Students deserve not just a good education but also leaders they can respect and trust.
