My name is Mia Mason, and I am running for Congress in Maryland's 6th District.

I'm a 20-year military veteran with five completed combat tours under my belt, and I am looking to be the first-ever trans woman elected to Congress. Let me tell you more about myself, but right now I'm asking if you will step up and become a founding donor of this historic campaign?

My story is like so many of those that made me decide to run for public office. So many people in so many communities feel left behind, unseen, and unheard.

I'm committed to the visibility of the LGBTQIA community and to the advancement of rights for all of us. We deserve a voice in Congress that offers us the opportunity to be seen and heard exactly as we are.

I know that we all have much more in common than the radical right would have us believe, and when we work together, we can ensure that our needs are met, and our representatives are doing the job they were sent to Washington to do. But it's not enough to say you will get the job done - it starts with action.

After my military career, I have worked alongside essential healthcare workers during the pandemic to aid in vaccinating Marylanders. I also worked building warehouses in the spirit of President Biden's "Build Back Better" to see that there were jobs waiting for those ready to get back to work in my state. I've worked alongside advocacy groups to pursue equality and civil rights for all.

I have also served on the Maryland Democratic Party LGBTQ+ Diversity Leadership Council as chair and pushed back against former President Trump's attempts to ban transgender servicemembers from being in our military.

I say all of this so you know that I am ready to deliver for Maryland's sixth district and be a voice for all of us. Making history is never easy, but this fight is worth it.
