I’ve launched an Exploratory Committee for the Ward 6 Council seat because our community deserves a leader who is realistic and has a reputation for pragmatism as we all work to make our shared vision a reality.

• Explore real solutions to make public safety a reality, balancing imposing consequences and providing opportunities to DC residents, especially amongst our young people.
• Connect directly with every resident, listening to your priorities and concerns.
• Build a powerful grassroots movement for positive change and progress in Ward 6.

Contribution rules

1. I am at least eighteen years old.
2. This contribution is made from my own funds, and funds are not being provided to me by another person or entity for the purpose of making this contribution.
3. I am a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident (i.e., green card holder).
4. I am making this contribution with my own personal credit card and not with a corporate or business credit card or a card issued to another person.

The maximum allowable contribution is $500.

Contributions to this exploratory committee are not contributions to a declared candidate campaign.

This fundraising effort supports an exploratory committee, which allows Michael Murphy to assess the feasibility of running for public office—including gauging community support, conducting research, and meeting initial compliance requirements. While this committee may incur certain expenses typical of a campaign, no formal candidacy has been declared at this time.

Should Michael decide to officially enter the race, all funds raised will be appropriately reported and transferred in accordance with District of Columbia campaign finance laws.
