As someone in our schools every day, I see the challenges facing our kids and our educators. Children needing extra support to become proficient readers. Teachers being asked to do more with less. Parents wondering whether we are doing enough to ensure a safe, supportive learning environment. Schools forced to make tough decisions amid uncertainty in state and federal funding.
Unfortunately, our current leadership is ill-equipped to meet these challenges because they have chosen to disengage from the very people they are meant to represent. They have limited meaningful avenues for input from parents, students, and teachers, and they have failed to show up in the community to build essential relationships. No town halls. No community conversations. No real engagement.
Our schools are strongest when parents and educators work together as partners. We can restore that spirit of collaboration county-wide by fostering a culture that welcomes community input rather than silences it, and that brings people together instead of dividing us.
As a leader in our schools, I have worked to expand parental engagement and strengthen parent-teacher partnerships. I will bring that same commitment and energy to the school board as your representative for Post 4.
