As a Clarke County resident, Michelle dedicates her free time to her two teenage sons, as well as giving back to the Clarke County community through her many volunteer endeavors. Michelle served on the Town of Berryville Planning Commission (a role she’s dutifully enjoyed since 2016) and also served as the President of Berryville Main Street, where she was instrumental in leading the economic development and revitalization efforts for the Berryville business district.
Michelle appreciates Berryville and Clarke County as a unique region, grounded in rural and agricultural heritage. The community aesthetic is what brings both visitors and residents to our County. Smart growth must be our goal while Clarke County meets the demands of increased tourism and population while improving our infrastructure.
In her position on the Board of Berryville Main Street, Michelle understood that economic development is vital to the sustainability of the Town of Berryville and the County. Small businesses must be encouraged and recognized for the vital role they play in the revitalization of our Main Street corridor. Michelle is committed to maintaining our small Town atmosphere – as evidenced by the variety of family-owned shops, restaurants, and businesses in Berryville. Without smart growth, these businesses cannot continue to thrive - and the County will suffer fewer options.
