Building on Two Years of Progress

We're half-way through our first term, and while we have been battling the COVID-19 pandemic, we've accomplished a lot:

Schools

• Record investments in PWCS, leading to higher staff salaries and the announcement of the 14th High School being built in our district!
• $25M in county COVID-19 relief funds invested in our schools to ensure student technology access, and improved safety conditions for teachers.

Smoother Commutes

• Three major projects on the Old Bridge corridor in-progress to combat traffic congestion.
• Planning underway to bring more transit to Prince William County, including Metro!

Safer Streets

• Establishment and expansion of the Co-responder unit, which pairs law enforcement and clinicians to respond to mental health calls.
• Additional investments in public safety, including fire & rescue services and domestic violence prosecutors

Superior Jobs

• Thousands of good paying jobs created in Prince William County
• Partnerships with unions and labor organizations, including NOVA's new skilled trades center

Social Services

• Investments in Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Child Services, homelessness support, & more.
• Establishment of a Child Advocacy Center and re-establishment of Intensive In-Home programs for at-risk youth and their families.

Sustainability

• Creation of Prince William's first clean energy goals and Community Energy Master Plan, including for the PW County government operations to be 100% carbon neutral by 2050.
• Establishment of a Sustainability Commission, Joint Environmental Taskforce with PWCS, and expansion of native plant use in all public projects.

Equity & Inclusion

• Updated the County's nondiscrimination policy to include protections based on gender identity, sexual orientation and more.
• Established the Racial & Social Justice Commission to identify barriers in opportunity for all Prince William residents.
