Tufts University Women's Basketball junior Mikayla Paquette has planned a two part initiative to bring some energy to the Medford community. Mikayla was chosen for The Team's Engaged Athlete Fellowship, a program helping over two dozen motivated college athletes to design and execute a year long civic engagement project.
In part one of Mikayla's project, Tufts will host the “Community Hoops” tournament where local young hoopers will get the chance to play a 3v3 tournament in Tufts state of the art facilities, with live music and food, and get some athletic gear giveaways.
For the second initiative set to kick off in April, Mikayla has partnered with Artists for Humanity to paint a vibrant outdoor court in the area, cementing the legacy of her work in Boston.
