Donate to Mitch for Michigan

Hi! I’m Mitch Treadwell, a paddler, housing advocate, fish wrangler, and City Commissioner running for Michigan’s 37th State Senate district. In the last 5 years, I’ve worked to do big things for Traverse City as a City Commissioner, Planning Commissioner, and other roles—we wrote a new Master Plan, repaired or replaced 6 bridges downtown, streamlined our zoning, and invested millions in upgrades to our sewer and water systems.

But many of the issues we face, from housing to transportation to childcare, require regional and State action—they can’t be solved by a City alone. If we want tourists to pay their fair share of the infrastructure we all rely on, that requires a change in State hotel taxes. To remove or repair aging dams before they fail often exceeds the budget of any one community—we need State resources and funding. After a year of unprecedented ice storms, flooding, blizzards, heat waves, and unbreathable air, we need the State of Michigan to step up and recognize the threat of climate change and help our utilities and residents be more resilient before the next disaster strikes.

I've been proud to fight to protect our water resources, build affordable housing, and serve the residents of Traverse City. With your help, let’s take things to the next level!
