Support MLCS Youth Jobs!

MLCS's mission is to build an equitable community by uplifting and supporting families, promoting community health, and nurturing resident and youth leadership and creativity.

This fall we need your support! The work we do with young people in our community is core to who we are. We don’t just offer youth programming, we provide them with jobs where they learn real life skills, explore their interests, and develop leadership.

This school year our goal is to raise $20k to support more youth jobs at MLCS. This funding would directly pay for the wages of youth who aren't currently funded through our existing youth grant slots. It's so important to us to pour back into our young people and keep them working with us all year around, and your support is greatly appreciated. We have secured a 1:1 match from private foundations for donations made during Giving Tuesday up to our goal of $20,000.

Youth here participate in 3 tracks including production, where they learn how to use design software and laser printers to create products and sell them to the community, events & media, where they organize community events and kickbacks for the younger kids in the neighborhood, and education, where they are working side by side with kids (ages 7-12) in our makerspace afterschool program and act as trusted mentors.

We also are working to find opportunities for our youth to do career exploration. If you or your company can host youth for internships or offer workshops or other learning opportunities, please get in touch with us.

As a token of our appreciation, each donation over $50 will receive a custom youth-made MLCS keychain. For more information about MLCS and to stay in the know, follow us on social media @mlcs.boston!
