Earlier this year, you supported our Maria's List slate of Georgia candidates and organizations that turned the state blue in November! Now we ask that you join us in contributing to our Deep Democracy Georgia organizations that will help take back the senate for Democrats in January!
The Organization:
The Georgia Muslim Voter Project was founded in 2015, in response to the growing anti-Muslim rhetoric and the low rates of civic engagement in the Muslim community. As a c3, their goal is to activate members of the Muslim community to vote. To date, they have registered over 4,000 voters and made thousands of phone calls to Muslim voters in Georgia. Turning out Muslim voters for the January run-off is critical to both Senate candidates.
Background:
Maria’s List is a woman-powered political communication and donor hub. Its mission is to comb the country for amazing women and people of color candidates using electoral research as well campaign and movement analysis.
How it works:
We identify and support progressive women of color leaders and organizations in congressional districts and county-level down-ballot races with the goal of boosting turnout in low-propensity, high Democratic-support regions in key swing states while electing progressive women of color leaders in state legislatures.
Maria’s List national will continue its strategy of funding the Southern progressive candidates and organizations that will deliver the turnout needed to elect Democrats to the White House, Congress, and state legislatures.
