The #WearOrange movement started when Hadiya Pendleton’s friends wore orange in her honor when she was shot and killed in Chicago at the age of 15 — just one week after performing at President Obama’s 2nd inaugural parade in 2013. Hadiya would be turning 20 years old on June 2nd. For the 3rd year in a row, Mom’s Demand Action will turn cities and towns across the country orange to commemorate Hadiya’s Birthday and promote National Gun Violence Awareness Day. The recent increase in gun violence in St. Paul highlights the need for all of us to come together and fight to end gun violence. Please join us by wearing orange on June 2nd and making a financial donation to support the important work ahead!
