We're the Young Democrats of Massachusetts, and after Democrats suffered losses with 18-29 year old voters in the last election, we decided to take action. In December 2024, we convened young Democratic Party leaders from 44 states in Boston. Together, we wrote blueprints for how we train and equip youth organizers and return young voters across the country to the Democratic Party.
We now have concrete ways to help Democrats win their elections by mobilizing, training, and convincing young people. With your help, we can turn these blueprints into action in time for the 2026 midterms:
- On average, we are able to recruit a new active super volunteer with every $250 we raise, returning orders of magnitude in benefits. We've found young people are particularly successful at recruiting other young people to become super volunteers who go on to give their time to help equip candidates, find staff, and recruit other volunteers.
- For every $100 we raise, we are able to send another issue-based text blast up to 1,000 young voters in a swing district. We wrote messaging to effectively communicate to young people how Democratic policies stood to particularly benefit them on issues like housing prices, climate change, and reproductive rights.
- For every $50 we raise we are able to recruit and train a new volunteer at our Young Democrats Training Academy sessions where we've worked to train young people on the campaign software, communications technology, and door to door skills that move votes.
The Young Democrats of Massachusetts is the official youth wing of the Democratic Party in Massachusetts established in 1924. You can learn more at YDMA.org. Please consider supporting our efforts early in 2026 to help us have maximum effect!
