Protect Free Speech and Support Independent Media with Molly Crabapple and In These Times
Join In These Times in New York City on August 25, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. for a special fundraiser supporting independent journalism and the fight to protect free speech.
The evening features bestselling author and In These Times cover artist Molly Crabapple, who will be there to talk about her work and the current state of politics, art, and other issues like artificial intelligence. The fundraiser is designed to allow supporters time to interact with one of the most important contributors to In These Times magazine in recent years.
Molly Crabapple's work with In These Times is ongoing, and In These Times Interim Executive Director Ari Bloomekatz will be on hand to share how he and Molly first came to work together about a decade ago and what the shared vision is for the future of the magazine.
Also featured are two other leaders of independent media outlets, Maximillian Alvarez, the Editor-in-Chief at The Real News Network and Micah Uetricht, who edits Jacobin. Bestselling author and historian Rick Perlstein will also be there to speak with supporters about his forthcoming books and how he's thinking about the history of fascism today.
This gathering will center the importance of sustaining independent media in a moment of growing political pressure and threats to a free press.
