To friends, family, and any other fortuitous folks who happen upon this page:
Since returning home from Israel/Palestine, I’ve been staying connected with the land by organizing with IfNotNow - an emergent millennial movement of young American Jews to end our community’s support for the occupation of Palestine. IfNotNow is grounded in the belief that the liberation of Jews is bound up with other oppressed groups, both in this country and in Israel/Palestine.
If you know me, you probably know that rarely do I feel disheartened or discouraged; I always tend to find some speck of optimism.Over the next few months, we will continue to build the #JewishResistance by mobilizing locally and across the nation. We want to train hundreds more people as members of IfNotNow, bring thousands more into the streets, and make the connection in our community between the moral bankruptcy of our institutions and the pro-Israel-at-any-cost politics that reigns in the American Jewish establishment.
However, we can’t make any of this happen without the support of our community. Now is the time of Hanukkah and gift giving. I have pledged to raise $100 to support this work, and I have already committed $25 myself. Even though you have been giving extra loads of love all weekend/month, can you make another gift this season? I am asking each of you to consider contributing around $10 and financially support a cause that deeply values not only your own, but also every individual's right to self-determination, freedom, and dignity.
