Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is a grassroots group fighting for common-sense gun laws. We're talking about the sorts of things that most Americans agree on: Background checks on all gun sales, preventing domestic abusers from getting their hands on guns, closing the sorts of loopholes that allowed a white supremacist to kill 9 people in the sanctity of their Charleston church.
This year, in honor of our Wear Orange campaign, we'll be raising awareness about how big of a problem gun violence is in the United States, AND raising money to help solve that problem. The best part? A percentage of any money we raise for Moms Demand Action nationally will be kicked back to our Missouri state chapter. That means that we can pay for more local tabling events, BeSMART presentations, Wear Orange events, volunteer trainings, Survivor engagement - the sorts of things that allow us to grow our base of people who are willing to stand up and fight for common-sense solutions to what has become a public health crisis. Your generous contribution will also support groundbreaking original research into the causes of gun violence and the means to reduce it through evidence-based policies and practices -- and it will help our volunteers communicate this knowledge far and wide as we work together to change our culture by reducing gun violence.
So, for the 90-plus people a day (8 of them children) who die, and the 200 more people who are injured each day by gun violence, we ask you to please make a contribution to this essential cause.
Thank you!
