From Tucson to Flagstaff and everywhere in between, the Arizona chapter of Moms Demand Action has been doing #WhateverItTakes to end gun violence in our communities. This year alone, lawmakers in Arizona considered several pieces of firearm-related legislation, including bills that would allow guns in government buildings, penalize businesses for putting up "no firearms" signs on their property, and even prevents local entities from passing background checks for private gun sales. Although that last bill was signed by the governor, AZ Moms will not be deterred.
We will #KeepGoing because we know that universal background checks save lives, that lockdown drills aren’t the answer to keeping our kids safe, that domestic abusers shouldn’t have access to guns, and that we must fight the gun lobby’s dangerous agenda of guns anywhere, no questions asked.
This year, we’re running our first Wear Orange fundraising campaign to support our work to elevate the voices of survivors of gun violence, our Be SMART program to prevent child deaths, and our on-going efforts to train more gun sense activists. Your donation helps support our local chapter, providing funds to allow us to continue to champion common sense gun policies that lead us to a future free from gun violence. Thank you so much for your support.
