In its next term, the Supreme Court is poised to hear a case that could upend our very democracy: Moore v. Harper.
The basis of Moore is a radical legal theory called the “independent state legislature doctrine.” The court has rejected this theory in the past, but its current radical right-wing majority has shown it cares far more about enacting its extreme agenda than following precedent.
