Western NC has a real role to play in building the next Democratic majority. In fact, we’re one of the only regions in the entire country that moved to the left in the 2024 election two years ago. That means some of our best opportunities for building power are right here.

With Mountain Movers, Representative Brian Turner is endorsing four Democratic candidates here in the west who need our help to make a difference in their races—and as a result, they will make a difference for us in Raleigh.

The goal? Raise at least $20,000, enough to cut each candidate a minimum $5,000 check to support their operations and raise awareness of their races. It won't be easy, but with your support, we can move mountains.

Charlie Wallin (HD-93) is a Madison County native who has spent his adult life working for Appalachian State University and is a current Watauga County Commissioner. Charlie is running to flip District 93 and bring lower costs and recovery funding to Watagua, Ashe, and Allegheny Counties.

Lindsey Prather (HD-115) is an incumbent Buncombe County representative and former public school teacher who is running in one of the most competitive districts in the state. Republicans redrew the map to try and force her out of this seat and we can have the opportunity to help her keep fighting for public education, public safety, and disaster recovery.

Lynne Russo (HD-117) is an advocate and small business owner who was inspired to run for this Republican-held seat in Henderson County after surviving Hurricane Helene. She's fighting to bring lower costs and recovery funding to her neighbors and give Western North Carolina a louder voice in Raleigh.

Mark Burrows (HD-119) has supported hundreds of small business and guided his home of Transylvania County through tough economic times as the county's first planning director. In Raleigh, he'll represent Swain and Jackson Counties too, and help our entire state by bringing his experience to economic growth, affordability, and accountability.
