Rod Powell here…and I’m running for a seat on the Cleveland County Board of Education.
We can be sure that our county will not stand still in today’s world. Cleveland County is a vibrant, energetic, and diverse place to raise a family. And it is tightly interconnected with our modern world. All our students in the Cleveland County school system deserve an education that prepares them for this rapidly changing world in which we now live.
Help me, a retired 28-year veteran teacher leader in our North Carolina public schools, to make sure our Cleveland County public school students realize success in school and beyond.
My promises to you:
• I will fight to keep our tax dollars in our county public school system.
• I will ensure that our students have the digital survival skills and critical thinking skills to navigate our modern high-tech world.
• I will support and respond to ALL teachers and staff as they work to teach our students.
• I will embrace, promote, and celebrate diversity in Cleveland County schools.
But I need your help to put me in a position to keep these promises and to do what’s right for the students, staff, teachers, and administrators in our Cleveland County school system.
