Since this local pizza chain was bought by a private equity firm, workers have reported wage theft and unsafe working conditions, including having no air conditioning during the summer in Texas, while operating ovens set at 550 degrees.
After being suspended for requesting sick pay, Via 313 workers organized. Now, they’ve successfully formed the first independent restaurant union in recent memory in the South.
