Michele is one of the strongest advocates for underserved communities in the the legislature when she made history in 2020, as the first Black openly queer woman to hold public office in Florida. And despite being a fierce fighter for progressive values, Michele also knows how to successfully navigate the halls of the Republican-dominated Capitol to bring back needed resources to the Tampa Bay area.
