Help us support Rural Champions, Representatives Susan Wild (PA-07) and Matt Cartwright (PA-08).

U.S. Representative Susan Wild is a mother, attorney, public servant, and a dedicated member of the Greater Lehigh Valley community for more than 30 years.

The daughter of a journalist and a career Air Force officer, she was born at Wiesbaden Air Force Base in West Germany, and spent her childhood on Air Force bases across our country and around the world—an experience that shaped her lifelong commitment to the families that serve and sacrifice alongside our servicemembers. After years of moving around, she finally found a place to call home when she settled in the Lehigh Valley to start her family. Susan built a successful legal practice in the Valley while raising her two children, Clay and Addie, and later became the first woman to be appointed Allentown's City Solicitor. In November 2018, she made history again when she was elected as the first woman to represent Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright represents Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District and was first sworn into Congress on January 3, 2013. In Congress, Matt is committed to working across the aisle to advocate for working families. Matt’s priorities include strengthening the middle class, creating jobs, ensuring quality health care, protecting seniors, and supporting veterans and military families. A strong believer in working with members of both political parties, Matt has introduced more bills with Democratic and Republican support than any other House Democrat since he was first elected. That is one of the reasons he was named one of the most effective House Democrats by the nonpartisan Center for Effective Lawmaking. He is committed to ensuring rural areas like ours are represented at the highest levels of the federal government. Matt graduated magna cum laude with a history degree from Hamilton College in 1983. He earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1986, where he was a member of law review.
