Marissa Roy is running to transform the LA City Attorney’s Office to fight for the people, not the powerful. After leading in the primary election and unseating the incumbent, Marissa is moving forward in the top two for the November election - against millions of corporate dollars.

Marissa is a civil rights attorney who has spent her entire legal career taking on corporations and fighting for working families. She built wage theft cases at the LA City Attorney’s Office that put tens of thousands of dollars each back in the pockets of workers, and represented LA County as outside counsel in its litigation against the Trump Administration. Now, she’s working on consumer protection and tenants rights at the California Department of Justice, where she is suing billion-dollar tech companies and abusive slumlords.

This is the work Marissa will bring this work for the people into the City Attorney’s office. She is proud to be building a grassroots, labor-centered campaign to ensure Los Angeles defends its workers, tenants, and families—not the powerful interests exploiting them.
