Every year when Mother's Day approaches and then passes I think of all the Moms that have lost a child due to senseless gun violence in America; 7 are killed every day plus, another 40 are shot and survive! As a mother of young children, this strikes me to the core and I dedicate as much time as I can to the volunteer work of MOMS DEMAND ACTION. This year, I hope to raise at least $500 for National Gun Violence Awareness Day on June 2nd to help fund survivor networks, prevention training and educational programs. We WEAR ORANGE in honor of Hadiya Pendleton, a 15-year-old Chicago high school student killed by gunfire while standing in a park with friends after taking her final exams. Every year cities, landmarks, and bridges across the country light up in ORANGE to be seen and heard in protest to this epidemic. Please help me raise money and awareness so NOT ONE MORE Mom spends Mother's Day without their sweet child! Thank you for taking the time, Moms and Survivors across the country appreciate every step and dollar we can raise to save a life!
