Mississippi Engaged is formed as a civic engagement table focused on addressing, educating, and coordinating civic engagement activities to strengthen and connect progressive nonprofit organizations and activists statewide. We believe democracy works best when every voice is heard. To that end, our mission is to support the growth and power building of the ecosystem of non-profit, non-partisan, and community-based organizations doing year-round civic engagement. We will work heavily within communities which have been legally, economically, and educationally disenfranchised from participation in democracy. Partnering organizations will work collaboratively to promote equitable access and justice to champion the advancement of voting rights and win policy victories by including the voices of impacted communities in civic solutions.
