I am running for Colorado State Senate in District 28 to continue the work I have been doing since 2017 in our State House, and I am grateful for your support in helping take on these challenges facing our state:

  • helping Coloradans face the high cost of housing by closing tax loopholes to fund more construction of new affordable units; improving renters' rights to safe and habitable dwellings; passing a senior income tax credit for moderate income elders; and reducing property taxes in a targeted way to help address recent inflation
  • fighting for a more equitable tax code that supports working families and small businesses while requiring the very well off to pay their fair share without special interest breaks
  • strengthening consumer protection laws so that bad actors don't rip people off (and gain an unfair advantage over honest businesses)
  • protecting our environment by creating specific limits on the emission of greenhouse gas pollutants; accelerating cleanup of leaking, dangerous "orphan" oil & gas wells, and promoting transition to clean electrical power sources
  • promoting access to quality education by supporting better funding for K-12 schools and significantly expanding very low-cost community college opportunities
  • reforming our criminal justice system so that offenders face sentences that are proportionate to their offense; those who have served their time can have a fair chance to successfully re-integrate into society; historic and ongoing racial disparities in enforcement of our criminal laws are critically examined and eliminated; and survivors of crimes receive support in their recovery
  • increasing government transparency through things like updated open records laws, more frequent disclosure by lobbyists, stronger campaign finance disclosure requirements, providing more information to voters about consequential ballot measures, protecting taxpayers from false claims made against the state, and reforming our decades-old judicial discipline system.
