I am fundraising for Seed the Vote!

Seed the Vote works to build the number and power of progressive elected officials by sending volunteers to “battleground” states to doorknock and phonebank. I have canvassed in Nevada and can tell you from personal experience, that it makes a difference. We help voters create a plan of action, and educate them on polling locations, important dates, and more. I was a Team Lead during my last trip canvassing for Kamala!

Because long-term change won’t happen only through elections, Seed the Vote collaborates with local partner organizations that work year-round on social justice issues in working-class communities of color.

In 2020, over 9,000 Seed the Vote volunteers (1,270 doorknockers and 7,730 phonebankers) helped defeat Trump and win control of the Senate by doorknocking and phonebanking in AZ, PA, GA, and FL. For this November, Seed the Vote is aiming to send 3,000 canvassers to doorknock in Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

Because we don’t want cost to be a barrier for anyone who wants to canvass, I’m raising funds to pay for travel & lodging for volunteers. I’ve set a personal fundraising goal of $5,000, and have donated $1,000.

Can you help me meet my goal by donating $25, $50, $100, or $500?

Where donations will go:

• $50 covers mileage & gas for a volunteer driving to the city they’re canvassing in

• $100 covers gas for a team of canvassers for a week

• $250 buys a flight for a volunteer coming from the same coast/midwest

• $600 buys a flight for a volunteer coming from the opposite coast

• $1000 covers hotel & flights for a canvasser flying out for a week Impact of donations:

• In a week, one canvasser can knock 300 doors and have 75 conversations.

Arizona was a critical state in deciding the outcome of the 2020 Presidential race. The 154 Seed the Vote canvassers in AZ knocked on 45,000 doors and had 16,000 conversations in a race decided by 10,457 votes.

After the Presidential election of 2020, Seed the Vote quickly pivoted to send 448 volunteers to doorknock in GA for the Jan 2021 Senate runoffs. They successfully helped elect Senators Warnock & Ossoff to capture control of the Senate.

In the 2022 midterm elections, 590 Seed the Vote volunteers doorknocked in NV and GA & helped maintain control of the Senate.

In NV alone where I have canvassed, volunteers talked to roughly 7,500 people at their doors during the tight re-election race of Senator Catherine Cortez-Masto who won by only 9,007 votes.
