The NAACP Youth & College Division have:
- Trained our membership base of 23,000 youth on national priorities that includes vote, gun violence, and student loan debt;
- Organized youth leadership in the field in support of the #WeAreDoneDying campaign to advocate for justice in the Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd cases;
- Built digital organizing tools to ensure access to training and mobilizing techniques were accessible during COVID-19;
- Coalition built with national, statewide, and local partners to increase our civic engagement and census efforts;
- Mobilized youth leaders on the ground in Texas for a National Day of Action to demand justice for Rodney Reed and successfully stopped his wrongful execution;
- Trained more than 6,000 young people across the nation in power mapping, organizational recruitment, policy writing, and campaigns.
However, there’s a lot more work to be done, a lot more to fight back against at a time when policies are steeped in hate and racism.
