Naima is running for City Council to fight to:
Make housing more affordable by strengthening tenants' rights, increasing the supply of affordable apartments, advocating for rent control, and better funding housing advocacy organizations.
Promote sustainable infrastructure by upgrading our public school buildings, passing zero-emissions standards for new developments, and directing federal funds into a Green New Deal for Somerville.
Care for residents' mental health by establishing an unarmed alternative emergency response service for our neighbors in crisis and by increasing funding for community-based services and youth programming.
Pursue language justice by spurring the City's efforts toward greater multilingual engagement and by expanding services for english language instruction, translation, and interpretation.
