Natalie Vowell

Natalie Vowell for STL City School Board

ALL St. Louis City students deserve thriving neighborhood schools and an education they can be proud of. There is still much work to be done in our schools and across our city, and Natalie Vowell will continue the work.

  • Served as Secretary and Vice President on the executive leadership team which oversaw the historic return of local elected control of our school board to the citizens

  • Voted AGAINST more school closures on the Northside and advocated to keep Sumner open

  • Consistently advocates for our students and families at the State Capitol and City Hall for sustainable school funding, criminal justice reform, and equitable property taxes

  • Fights to lower property taxes for senior citizens, low-income families, and veterans in owner-occupied homes, to keep more properties on the tax rolls funding our schools, NOT giving tax breaks to wealthy developers.

  • Prioritizes our own teachers and families to shape policy and curriculum — NOT the textbook, testing, and transportation industries.

  • Appointed to serve as St. Louis City's representative on the Board of Directors of the Missouri School Boards' Association

  • The ONLY candidate who has earned Master Certification as a school board member

  • Ensured the Board of Education was accountable, transparent, and in compliance with Sunshine Law prior to the return of governance

  • Drafted and passed a bylaw to include a Student Representative on the Board of Education

  • Continues working to change heartless City policies that contribute to the social decline of our most marginalized citizens and students who are already struggling against a systemic current to get ahead.

  • Serves as a full-time volunteer to bridge the gap for parents across the economic spectrum. Natalie is available 24 hours per day via phone or text as a point of contact between schools and parents. Natalie Vowell: (314) 467-0127
