In 2026, Native candidates are running at every level — from the U.S. Senate to city council. This fund supports 26 Native leaders who are closing the representation gap and building the political power our communities deserve.

  • Peggy Flanagan (White Earth Ojibwe) for Minnesota U.S. Senate — Minnesota's Lt. Governor is running to become the first Native American woman in the U.S. Senate.
  • Mary Peltola (Yup'ik) for Alaska U.S. Senate — The first Alaska Native elected to Congress is challenging Sen. Dan Sullivan with her "Fish, Family, Freedom" message.
  • Deb Haaland (Laguna Pueblo) for New Mexico Governor — The first Native Cabinet Secretary is running to become the first Native American woman elected governor in U.S. history.


U.S. CONGRESS


  • Sharice Davids (Ho-Chunk) for U.S. Congress (KS-03) — One of the first two Native women elected to Congress, Sharice is defending her seat in a competitive Kansas district.
  • Heather Keeler (Yankton Sioux) for U.S. Congress (MN-07) — A former foster youth and current State House Representative running for Congress in Minnesota.
  • Anthony Tamez-Pochel (Sicangu Lakota) for U.S. Congress (IL-05) — Running to bring Native representation to Illinois's congressional delegation.
  • Diop Harris (Potawatomi) for U.S. Congress (MI-05) –Challenging a long-term incumbent to be the first Native person to represent Michigan in Congress.
  • Chris James (Eastern Band Cherokee) for U.S. Congress (AZ-05) – Running to be the first Native person to represent Arizona in Congress.

  • Clara Pratte (Navajo) for Arizona Corporation Commission — DNC Native Caucus Chair running for one of the most powerful utility regulatory seats in the country.
  • Rep. Shea Backus (Cherokee) for Nevada State Assembly — Vulnerable incumbent and the only Native state legislator in Nevada. We can't afford to lose this seat.
  • Rep. Charlotte Little (San Felipe Pueblo) for New Mexico House of Representatives— Vulnerable incumbent defending her seat in New Mexico's state house.
