Neighbors Supporting Chicago District Council 24 Candidates

As three longtime community organizers running for the 24th District ECPS Council, we are: EdVetté W. Jones, a coworker of the groundbreaking ordinance that became ECPS; Rev. Dr. Marilyn Pagán-Banks, who worked on the committee to turn the ordinance into reality; and Veronica I. Arreola, who has worked to connect politically engaged neighbors through the 50th Ward Action Network. The three of us are combining forces to ensure that community voices are reflected in public safety plans.

The ECPS council is the most progressive community-led police accountability device in the country and it is important to elect the most progressive voices possible. Uniting 24! has worked with youth groups and faith-based organizations, fed the community through fundraising and food drives, and organized a town hall at the onset of the pandemic to share resources and bring together voices in the community.

This is a grassroots campaign working to change the way policing is done in our city. We have a lot of work ahead of us that requires people and money power. Any and all donations are appreciated.
