"Nhà" means home, and that's exactly what this is.
After 1975, Vietnamese refugees rebuilt their lives along Federal Boulevard, and Far Southwest Denver grew its own Little Saigon. Today District 2 is home to one of Denver's largest Vietnamese American communities. I'm running to represent the district my family and neighbors helped build, and I'm opening my home the way my family always has: over cà phê and conversation, with no clock running.
Expect Vietnamese cà phê, espresso, and tea, made slow: phin coffee dripped one cup at a time, tea steeped by the pot, a record playing start to finish. Bring a book, a craft project, or a record of your own. Everyone is welcome, meet your neighbors, stay a while, and tell me what District 2 needs.
🗳️ OCTOBER 18: Cà Phê & Ballots
Special guest barista: Duc Huynh
For our first morning, our Harvey Park neighbor Duc Huynh, co-owner of Vinh Xuong Bakery and Dandy Lion Coffee, will be behind the cà phê bar. Bring your Blue Book, the state's nonpartisan guide to statewide ballot measures, and we'll go through each one together. Come with questions, or just come to listen.
