As a lifelong West Virginian who has lived the "West Virginia Experience," I have witnessed the struggles our families endure firsthand. My mother, tirelessly juggling two jobs, tragically passed away at the age of 56. Meanwhile, my father, employed in a sawmill, suffered disability as a result of that being the only gainful employment available in our local area. I have worked multiple jobs in customer service, and as a park ranger, and as a manager on top of organizing and advocating for many of the issues my campaign is focusing on. I have volunteered to work with our at-risk youth and built homes for our families with Habitat for Humanity. These personal experiences exposed me directly to the challenges our fellow West Virginians confront daily. Unlike traditional politicians, my commitment as a public servant lies not in personal gain or political aspirations, but rather in serving the public good. I am driven by a genuine desire to tackle the pressing issues facing our communities and effect real change. My focus remains steadfastly on improving the lives of West Virginians, unencumbered by desires of personal wealth, future career prospects, or the allure of historical acclaim. I genuinely want better for this state and my fellow West Virginian's and because of my experiences, and the fact that I will likely be the only native West Virginian running for this seat, I believe I offer the best opportunity for regular West Virginian's to have their voices heard on the issues that affect them every day from issues concerning privacy, to the need for affordable childcare and guaranteed paid leave from work, to improving vocational and educational support in our public schools. I am willing to put forth the effort to help those in our communities who do the most: our Firefighters, EMTs, Guardsmen, Teachers, and other public servants; while protecting West Virginia families from an increased tax burden and fighting for West Virginia businesses in a way that actually helps them. I believe it is these values and experiences that separates me from the other candidates in the race.

I am running to give working West Virginians a fighting chance. The state is short 250 firefighting tankers, our national guardsmen deserve a pay raise for their continued sacrifice, and our citizens deserve a right to privacy! Meanwhile our state has to return nearly a billion dollars due to a lack of oversight while the state legislature at the same time continues to strangle small businesses with inventory taxes. The West Virginia legislature has raised the gas tax on our citizens multiple times over the last decade while our citizens struggle with the opioid epidemic and paying for childcare. Our Guardsmen sacrifice and risk their lives for poverty wages and our education and vocational systems are being destroyed for profit. Our firefighters and EMTs are stretched to the breaking point with old equipment and mental trauma. These are just a few of the issues I care deeply about. I will fight for the workers of West Virginia; but I need your help to do it. Please consider a small recurring monthly donation to fuel my campaign in the 96th. I am in your debt as a public servant.
