Compassion

Compassion is at the heart of public service. Without it, government is not truly representative of the people. That's why the issue of medical marijuana is so important to me — it's about compassion.

Earlier this week, I continued my push for federal reforms to remove some of the burdens to allow sick and suffering Floridians access to the medicine prescribed by medical professionals.

My friend, and your next Agriculture Commissioner, Nikki Fried is also leading this charge in our state government. She's made compassion the hallmark of her campaign, and we need to support her.

As you may have read, two large banks recently banned her campaign from banking at these institutions due to her platform regarding medical marijuana. But she is not giving up her fight to do what is right for the people even in the face of these challenges. I’m proud to fight alongside her, which is why I've called on the federal government to support medical marijuana businesses having access to legitimate banking services.

I've also called for protections for our federal employees who are in compliance with all state laws regarding medical marijuana and to allow states to decide their own laws when it comes to marijuana access without fear of federal interference.

I hope you'll join me not only in supporting these bills, but also supporting candidates who are leading with compassion.

This issue isn't left vs. is right, it's right vs. wrong.

Thank you,

Charlie
