Hiya! I'm Nina (they/them), and I'm proud to announce my fundraiser for an organization that closely aligns with my morals and values, and supports a future of liberation for all.
The Seeding Change Fellowship (SCF) is my first formal educational experience in organizing work. Seeding Change is an organization dedicated to training young Asian Americans across the country to advance our organizing skills and experiences in the fight for collective liberation through gender, racial, and economic justice. I am grateful to be a staff member of California Healthy Nail Salon Collaborative (CHNSC), a grassroots organization serving nail salon workers-- a community so close to my heart. This year, CHNSC is a SCF host site; to work full-time for CHNSC and receive inter-organizational education and trainings to sharpen my organizing tools are once-in-a-lifetime opportunities I am indefinitely appreciative of.

Since my high school graduation, I've worked in corporate settings and earned an International Business degree from UC San Diego-- my career journey was rooted in survival and a determination to fend for myself and my immediate community.
However, after practicing community building and mentoring in my college years, I eventually concluded that my empathy, creativity, and intensity are important to movements that truly care for others-- thus, my pivot into grassroots organizational work began.

In the SCF, I have learned about racial capitalism's poisonous effects on you, me, and our local and global communities; how to build power in bases; and how to develop effective leadership skills. Learning from experienced organizers and my passionate, determined fellows is enriching and inspirational. We fellows then put our theory into praxis at our host sites as we do important work for movements and organizations across the country. For example, as CHNSC's Communications Coordinator, I write bilingual stories and create visualizations of the joys, laborious efforts, hardships, and pride that Vietnamese nail salon workers across California hold in their lives. The SCF bolsters my work in CHNSC by providing me with the educational and community support I need to be a compassionate and effective organizer. I feel so lucky to be a part of this flourishing legacy, and YOU can help keep it thriving!
Your donation would continue funding the next cohort of Seeding Change fellows who are ready to commit to building a better world through grassroots change and leading with love for our communities!
No donation is too small. Can you, and will you give what you can to build the next generation of changemakers and activists?
Thank you for all of your support!! Love you all!!
