Nithya Raman has done exactly that. She’s an urbanplanner, an immigrant, and a sitting City Councilmember who has shown that smart, principled leadership makes a difference. In office, she’s helped deliver the largest reduction in street homelessness of any council district, strengthened tenant protections, expanded unarmed crisis response, and cut red tape to build more housing near jobs and transit. She’s pushed for accountability at City Hall and refused to rubber-stamp deals that put taxpayers or vulnerable communities at risk.
Now Nithya is running for Mayor to govern with urgency and accountability, and to deliver results for the people who call this city home.
