We brought 16 Native youth from 9 Tribal Nations and villages across 9 states to this year's National UNITY Conference in San Diego. It was a huge event with more than 2,500 Native youth in attendance and we hosted a workshop that aimed to equip all attending with the tools to engage and organize their communities to respond in this political moment.
It was filled with impactful sessions, workshops, regional caucuses, and trainings. It included fun evening activities, support, healing, and spiritual nourishment -- and a career fair too. All of it together provided hands-on leadership development activities where Native youth could share their experiences and explore their role in today’s world.

Our team facilitated a session titled “Buffalos in the Storm,” where we lead discussions of effective/ineffective and violent/nonviolent tactics and forms of protest in the current political climate. Together we worked on how we as a community can navigate the political storms ahead.
This is the training work we do. We bring people together and lead workshops so thousands of Native youth across Turtle Island will learn to be grounded in who they are, ready to lead with tools and skills to move our people, and committed to protecting our communities, Native sovereignty, and our cultures.
