Law enforcement must be effective, efficient, and fair to everyone.
These three goals interact with each other. We must be fair to be viewed by our neighbors as legitimate. We must also have the community's support to be effective at preventing crime, and not merely responding to it. And through transparency, we can show our neighbors that we are using our limited resources efficiently, providing maximum benefit for their tax dollars.
Evidence-based practice and peer-reviewed research can show us the way to break out of the old patterns of policing. We can provide safety and security to every member of our communities, while maintaining our values, the rule of law, and not breaking the bank of local governments.
Please donate to help us modernize our approach to public safety and keep us moving forward.
