Don’t Make the Prairie Scary: Oppose ICE Detention in MN
Residents from Appleton, Minnesota and other surrounding communities oppose the planned reopening of the Prairie Correctional Facility in Appleton, Minnesota as an ICE prison camp. We are standing up, saying clearly we do not want an ICE facility in Appleton, Swift County or anywhere else in the state of Minnesota.
Unfortunately, there could be immigrant detainees housed there as soon as October, 2026.
A coalition of organizations, non-profits and local citizens are working to stop the opening of this prison or slow down the process. These include Immigrant Defense Network, ACLU-MN, Indivisible Twin Cities and others.
