ACTION ALERT 7/1/2025 - URGENT: Donate now for bond funds to release community members kidnapped by ICE at Chesterfield court from immigration detention.

Over the past few weeks, ICE has been stalking the Chesterfield General District Court. Community members, attorneys, and the press reported that ICE arrested more than 18 peoplefollowing their appearances in court for minor traffic-related offenses (like failure to yield, driving without a license, and other similar misdemeanor traffic offenses).

Everyone, regardless of immigration status, must have access to Virginia’s courts. ICE’s presence in our courthouses denies not only noncitizens their basic rights, but also spreads fear, heartbreak, and anxiety throughout our community.

As of July 1, 2025, community groups have identified and connected with 5 individuals arrested by ICE at the Chesterfield Courthouse. All five of these individuals are the main breadwinners of their families, leaving their loved ones such as partners and minor children in a vulnerable position without the usual income they rely on.

We're urgently raising the necessary funds to help those detained get legal representation and pay for their bonds. Help us reunite these families. No one should have to buy their freedom. Please give what you can and share widely.
