Mainers for Accountable Leadership strives to hold the members of Maine's Congressional Delegation accountable by letting Mainers know how they vote on critical issues. Recently, Senator Susan Collins voted to confirm Trump's nominee for Supreme Court Neil Gorsuch. Gorsuch is an extremist conservative activist judge who could not get the 60 votes historically required for Supreme Court nominees. Instead of going to Trump and pushing for a more centrist nominee, Collins voted to change Senate rules to eliminate the 60 vote threshold and push Gorsuch through. She proved once and for all that she really only truly cares about Senate rules and procedures when they benefit her side. Senator Angus King on the other hand came out firmly in opposition to Gorsuch, citing his extreme opinions on corporate power and greed, women's reproductive rights, and the authority of federal agencies to enforce regulations that protect Americans and the Earth.
MFAL will be running a social media ad to let Mainers know how our Senators voted on Gorsuch and on the rule change. Please donate to help us spread the word about their votes and hold them accountable.
