Writers Resist Revival is an evening of writers and music celebrating freedom, art, and the fight for our rights. Proceeds from this fundraiser benefit three vital causes: the New York Abortion Access Fund, the Ulster Immigrant Defense Network, and Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press.
Inspired by the wave of Writers Resist events in 2017 at Bearsville Theater and around the country, Writers Resist Revival is a shared affirmation of democratic values and creative resistance. The event promises the spirit of that original celebration — readings, music, and town fair–style fun — amplified for this moment.
About the New York Abortion Access Fund
NYAAF is New York's only abortion fund, providing financial assistance, case management, and resources for New Yorkers and anyone traveling to the state for abortion care, including from states and countries where abortion is banned or restricted.
Since the overturn of Roe in 2022, NYAAF has supported 8,861 abortion seekers from 40 states, Puerto Rico, Washington D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands, as well as 25 countries.
NYAAF relies on donations and community support in order to provide care to abortion seekers who may otherwise be unable to access the care they need and deserve. The cost of abortion procedures can range from $600 to over $30,000.
