Naomi's IfNotNow FUNdraiser pt. 2!
For the past year, I've been organizing with IfNotNow (in case I haven't gushed to you about this brave and beautiful community), a group of young Jews working to end American Jewish support for the occupation. This work is deeply personal for me--our country is currently experiencing a terrifying onslaught of white supremacy rendered permissible by the Trump administration, threatening my own Jewish community, and the communities of my friends and allies. I see Jewish institutions, including AIPAC, standing silent and refusing to speak out against anti-Semitism in our country, instead choosing to stand with Donald Trump and his cabinet. In order to continue supporting the entrenchment of the occupation, our institutions have ignored our safety and security to lend tacit support to the scourge of nativism. IfNotNow knows that the liberation of American Jewry is bound up with the liberation of all oppressed groups. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the occupation, and we'll be showing up at AIPAC's door to let them know that American Jews will not stand for the Israel-at-any-cost politics that they champion.
